Delays

Today was supposed to be the day of our move, but when the carpet cleaners came yesterday Clark found bed bugs.

Yup.  Bed Bugs!!!!!!!

So we now have to get the apartment sprayed down, and our complex supplies us with furniture, which has been nice, but at this location we are not taking any of it!!!  I'd rather sleep on the floor than run the risk of bed bugs.

So gross.

Did I mention I'm not looking forward to moving???  I just keep telling myself it's a bigger apartment....

I still haven't found a job yet.  I've had a few interviews, one of which went well, they said they'd start me on the 15th of LAST MONTH, and now they don't return my calls.  Weird.

I've still been able to keep busy though!  I've done a lot of hair since I've been back but I keep forgetting to take pictures!!  I even did purple hair last month.  That would've been a great picture.  Oh well.  Thankfully these girls reminded me!  Sorry about the cell phone pics.

This was a cut and style.  Her man was coming home and she wanted her hair curled for when she picked him up at the airport.  This definitely made me want longer hair again!  I love those curls!

My sister-in-law Krystal wanted a slightly more vibrant, natural looking red than her strawberry blond.  I added some blond in the front as well.

Gotta love the lighting of an apartment!  I put 3 different colors in her hair!  It was a lot of fun!

Memories are made of this!

The first time I ever went to the State Fair was for a singing group I was apart of.  I BEGGED my mom to bring us back so we could go on all the rides.

She said no.

Of course now I realize why all these years later.  EXPENSIVE!!!  DANGEROUS!!!  EXPENSIVE!!!   TRASHY!!!  SMELLY!!!  EXPENSIVE!!!!

But as a kid it was the coolest thing ever.  She did let us go into a fun house, and a few slides.  But when we saw the cartoon sketcher we all begged and begged and she gave in.

Oh!  My mom is the coolest mom EVER!!!  I love this sketch!!!  So many memories!  So many neighborhood friends!

The sides of this were all mouse-eaten so I took a picture and tossed it.  Sad.  Thank goodness for cameras!

Bridal Shower

This last week my friends and I threw a bridal shower for Tera Jackson and it was a success!
I promised lots of pictures so here we go!
The wedding colors were purple & green, she chose this paper (below) for the party and wanted it to be fun! Here's what we came up with!
Her invite, of course, with the paper she chose
Her cake (thanks to Melissa) a purple & green and of course matching the polka dot paper!
Purple Monogram cookies of her new last name (again, thanks Melissa), and purple & green parisian macaroons
A display of her new last name above where she opened gifts, again using the paper...
Colorful matching fabric for the table brought by a neighbor... Purple tissue balls for the front door... And again above the table...
Here's a front shot (the door ruins the lighting)
Friends of the bride!
It turned out perfect and I'm so happy for Tera & Dave and wish them the best!

a day IN the lake

My friend Camille always seems to have an adventure going on in her life. Either that or she's just a good story teller. Her little boy recently lost his Elmo doll through a series of misleading events which ended up with her discovering the doll in a grocery store trash can. Well, this particular doll is no longer available for purchase in stores. Check on this AMAZING story HERE on how she got another one. Trust me, it's hilarious!!!

Mrs. Lyman's Hair Receiver

My horrible friends left me for a week, didn't say goodbye, didn't call me, didn't miss me, didn't care, and were having a wonderful time without me. However, my wonderful, darling, thoughtful friends, upon arrival, did in fact remember me did miss me, and although they did have a wonderful time without me, they also bought me the coolest gift ever! It's antique, it's really old, and it matches my room perfectly. It's a hair receiver! And I LOVE IT!!!!
