Bath Time!

I love when I'm having a bad day and Clark sends me random pics of when he was washing the dogs. How can I not smile at the two cutest dogs in the world??

Clark's Birthday

Clark hates celebrating his birthday, so it's always low-key, but I figured everyone deserves to be embarrassed with a song and some candles. So I surprised him a week early at a family dinner.
My mom is the best at taking birthday pictures, and he knows it, so he refuses to let his cheeks puff out. Nothing better than a shot of blowing out candles, but oh well. One of these years he'll forget to keep a straight face :)
He blew out all 30 candles and then 1 re-lit itself.

Here's the second cake without candles!  It was soooo lemony and delicious!  Thanks for helping me make 2 cakes from scratch mom!!  And of course thanks to Kristen for giving us all the fresh lemons used in this cake!  It's a Martha Stewart recipe, but instead of 2 TBS of lemon juice I used 15 TBS because that's the way I roll.  And what's the point in a lemon cake if there is no lemon filling? So we made a lemon custard for the filling.  It was tart and sour and divine.

He couldn't stay too mad at me since there were lots of leftovers (a whole cake). Happy Birthday you old fart!

State Fair

Last night Clark and I went to the State Fair with his brother Charles, his wife Krystal, and their baby Carter.  It was $1 to get in that afternoon and we live a few blocks away, so we figured, why not!

We had fun watching Carter while Charles and Krystal went on some rides.  He is the funniest little kid!!  Always has a smile (except in this pic).

We were shocked at how trashy all the kids there were dressed, and we got a good laugh out of a lot of crazy people.  Sounds mean, but I'm just being honest. (I always hate it when people use that as an excuse for a mean joke, but it's different when you don't know the person???)

Clark and Charles waiting for Mega Drop :)

I'm not too scared for that ride, but I'm not a fan of my heart racing.  I get enough of that with my meds.  It was fun watching their feet dangling though. :)

And a picture of a bat.  Just for fun.

Priesthood

Clark received the Melchizedek Priesthood on Sunday. His grandad came up from Casa Grand and gave a good prayer. Because it was REALLY short he was able to remember everything he said and wrote it down for Clark to keep, which was really thoughtful.
If you're wondering about the picture, I googled Melchizedek Priesthood and this was the first picture to show up. (the strange man is supposed to be J.S.) Enjoy!
