Precious

After church as Clark stood waiting for me to pick a craft (stake craft day and I am extremely indecisive) and a little boy ran up to Clark and gave him a big hug.

I was a bit startled thinking maybe Clark knew him.

Nope.

Just a random little boy. His mom laughed and said her son gets a feeling about people and just likes to hug them. I sort of gave the boy a second look thinking maybe he was handicap.

He wasn't.

I felt bad for thinking that.

His mom and I laughed about hugging strangers as kids (from that height it's easy to confuse legs). I finally decided on a craft. No craft. Although I want to participate, I don't want to spend money on something I'll just throw away. No offense meant to my new ward. Just not the craftiest bunch.

On the drive home Clark tells me that while we were standing by the craft table he started thinking about how much he wanted kids. While lost in those thoughts, that's when the little 4 year old grabbed ahold of Clark's legs.

Too funny. Maybe that kid CAN sense things, like his mother was saying. But really, that was perfect timing. Rather hilarious.

Clark has his

mulberry tree

Clark discovered 3 Mulberry trees by our house last week. Very delicious!
We picked all afternoon...
And made a delicious galette! Although, berries don't make good galettes. Juice everywhere. We still ate it. The galette only tasted good the second day because they aren't a sour berry.
We are stocking up on berries to try out a lacto-fermented drink. I'll let you know how that one turns out.

Garden

We finally did it!!! For the past month we've been trying to plant our garden, and anything that could go wrong, did. Mostly rain. We finally had a week of sun and got to it.

We worked on it all morning and I seriously don't know how people do it!!! Way too hard. Tae Bo seems silly to me after a day of hoeing. I'm beat! I'm so excited to see how it turns out! We planted a lot of different seeds. We've got watermelon, strawberries, melons, yellow onions, lettuce, green beans, tomatoes, corn, and I can't think what else. Oh, squash. That too. Missouri is an easy gardening state. Just throw in the seeds and wait. It rains almost every other day to bother with watering it. Oh, pumpkins and beets! Did I mention I was exhausted?

Oops and YAY!

Clark and I have been going on absolutely no sleep the past couple of days, crazy schedules, and this morning we got up at 5am, drove 2 hours to Cassville so Clark could take his G.E.D. test. We got lost a few times, but he made it before testing started.

Refief!

So I wait in our truck and try and sleep, but the seats don't recline so, yeah, kind of hard. No big deal. Testing should be over by noon, right?

Wrong.

After Clark's first break he tells me he found out the test is 8 hours. Guess I should have checked on that before I went along for the ride!!! All I wanted was to do is sleep! Thanks to Heather, I was entertained all day long! Yay for people with kids who have lots of errands to run!

Clark finally finished the test 2 hours early, YAY!!! Pass or fail I'm so proud of him for doing it!!

Funny Day

Today was one of the funniest days at church. I won't go into everything, but I figured I'd share the highlights.

During the sacrament I hear this really loud bang. I turn my head to see a woman whose skirt is drenched in water and the tray is empty of all the little cups!

I don't know where the loud noise came into play, but it was pretty funny. Since I couldn't really laugh I had to remind myself how much it would suck to spill all that water on my skirt. Even then, that wasn't enough to supress a little smile!

After church Clark and I have the following conversation:

Me: How was Priesthood?

Him: I don't know. I didn't go.

Me: How come?

Him: I assumed Priesthood was in the same room as Sunday School. Most wards do it that way. (new ward)

Me: That's why you didn't go?

Him: Not exactly. I fell asleep while everyone was visiting and leaving for the next block and I'm not sure how long I was asleep. When I woke up the room was empty. I couldn't figure out where class was.

I don't know why that is so funny to me! I just get this funny image of Clark waking up and being confused! Our new ward is the early session and with me working evenings and the building being 30 minutes away...bad news.

Be nice...OR ELSE!!!

Conversation at the salon:

Me: Okay, follow me, we're going to be at this chair here.

Client: ...um... you're doing my hair?!

Me: Yes.

Client: Well, I don't like your hair cut. I don't like your hair.

Me: (*!#@!!) Ha ha, well I'm not going to cut your hair short like mine! (Big smiles, but secretly ready to kill)

Client: I don't like the way your hair is styled.

Client's Sister: That's just the way young people style their hair, she's a stylist.

Seriously?! Who says that?! She did apologize later, and explained that she heard you should always pick a stylist who has great hair.

I kindly explained that stylists don't cut their own hair, so basically her logic sucks. Okay, I didn't say that last part. Thankfully she ended up LOVING the cut, took notes on my styling tips, bought the products I used, and gave me a HUGE tip.

My hair may suck, but not as bad as her manners.
